The Late B.P. Helium is the solo project of Bryan Poole (AKA Bryan Helium), who has played bass with both
Of Montreal and Elf Power.
He released a handful of singles and compilation tracks in early 2001. On these recordings Bryan played all the instruments
with the exception of a few contributors. On the Happy Happy Birthday to Me single, the trumpet parts were done
by Alicia Wolfe. The song on U.S. Pop Life Vol. 10 - Athens Experimental features John Fernandes
(Olivia Tremor Control) on African water drum. Happy Happy Birthday to Me Vol. 2's track
credits contributors Jorge Eduardo Livingood (of the band Jucifer) and Oral Pen Boy.
In November 2001, Jonathan Whiskey Records in the UK released a split 7" with Of Montreal.
The release was limited to 250 copies and featured 2 songs from Late BP Song for Marie and Alright Yeah
(a Robyn Hitchcock cover).
The Kumquat Mae ep was released on Orange Twin in May 2003.
Bryan's first full-length album entitled Amok was released on Orange Twin Records
in October 2004.
